Things To Do On ACC Championship Weekend

Things To Do On ACC Championship Weekend
By Scott Rhymer

Are you heading to Charlotte this weekend? Here is a quick list of what to do and where it will be to help you plan your weekend. Most of this information can be found at
www.theacc.com.

As I type this, plans are not finalized on our broadcast location for the Tiger Pregame Show on Saturday. We are scheduled to be inside of Bank of America Stadium, but there is a chance we will broadcast from a remote spot. If that turns out to be the case, we will let you know that location so you can come by and be a part of the show.

As a reminder, the Tiger Pregame Show will broadcast from 2:00-5:00 and you can listen to us in Charlotte by downloading the Tune In app for free on your Smart Phone.

Friday
The ACC’s Night of Legends will take place on Friday at the Charlotte Convention Center. This signature event pays tribute to outstanding athletes from ACC Football programs both past and present by honoring the 2011 ACC Football season’s award winners as well as a Legend from each ACC institution representing their university during the 2011 ACC Football Championship game in Charlotte. The gala will embody the true spirit of ACC Football and will offer attendees the opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in college football. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m.

Also on Friday, the official fan party of the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game will take place in downtown Charlotte. EpiCentre will be the place to be the night before the game. In addition to the restaurants, bars, and other attractions that call EpiCentre home, the main courtyard will be ready to host fans. With cheerleaders, marching bands, and mascots, the EpiCentre is sure to get fans ready for the big game.

Saturday
ACC FanFest, presented by AT&T, will take place on Saturday. FanFest will be located on Mint St. between Morehead & Stonewall/Graham Streets; Adjacent to Stadium East and North Gates

This will be one of the biggest events of the weekend. The ACC FanFest presented by AT&T will encompass a large area of interactive games, team bands, mascots, pep rallies, Corporate Partner attractions and giveaways, food/beverages, autograph opportunities with ACC Legends and entertainment all day long! This event is free to the general public.

The ACC FanFest presented by AT&T is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday and will run until gametime. All activities take place outdoors (rain or shine) adjacent to Bank America Stadium along Mint and Graham Streets.

Tentative Schedule of Events
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Live Music by Early Ray @ Dr Pepper Stage

2:30 PM – 3:00 PM – ACC Mascots Game @ Dr Pepper Field
3:00 PM – 3:30 PM – Dr Pepper/Food Lion Tuition Throw @ Dr Pepper Field
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM – David Nail @ Dr Pepper Stage

4:30 PM – 5:30 PM – ACC Football Legends Autograph Session
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM – Dierks Bentley @ Dr Pepper Stage

As noted above, Tiger Band is scheduled to perform at 4:30, so make sure you come by and let Charlotte know that the game will be dominated by Clemson fans on Saturday night.

Finally, it is going to be cold Saturday night with lows dipping into the upper 30's. So dress warm, and in orange, to cheer on our Tigers.

It has been 20 years since we have won an ACC Championship. We are 60 minutes from achieving that goal....so let's do it.
