Today’s photo is of Thomas Ray, who lettered at Clemson as a quarterback from 1963-1965.
Ray became the first Tiger QB to throw for more than 300 yards in a 17-13 loss to UNC in 1965. His primary target that day was Phil Rogers, who caught 11 passes for129 yards. The 323 yards stood as a Clemson record until Brandon Streeter threw for 329 yards in 1998.
