The Tiger Pregame Show on WCCP 104.9 FM is locked and loaded for its 10th consecutive season on the radio, starting with the 117th consecutive show live on location when Clemson opens the season in Atlanta vs. Auburn.

Scott Rhymer, TPS
Host Since 2003
The show comes full circle in year ten with a touch of the new and a hint at the old. Scott Rhymer, host for all nine years dating back to the 2003 football season, returns as the host for what will be his 117th consecutive broadcast live on location where the Tigers play.

“The common thread of this pregame show has always been to broadcast where the action is” Rhymer stated recently. “Our job is not only to inform fans and get them ready for the game, but to also paint the picture of a game day at Clemson or Tallahassee or Atlanta. Wherever the Tigers are, that is where we will be.”

Former Clemson quarterback Willy Korn will join Scott Rhymer as co-host of WCCP’s popular Tiger Pregame Show this fall on the flagship station for Clemson Sports, 104.9 FM.

Rhymer feels the show has taken another big step forward with the addition of Korn. “Willy has played at the highest level in high school at Byrnes. He’s also played at the highest level in Division I football at Clemson under Tommy Bowden and Dabo Swinney. His knowledge, expertise, and insight is something that adds another dimension to our analysis on the show”, Rhymer states.

Willy Korn Joins WCCP And The Tiger Pregame Show
"What a tremendous privilege it is to be a co-host on WCCP's Tiger Pregame show with Scott Rhymer," Korn said Wednesday. "I am extremely excited to be a part of Clemson football again. My goal is to give Clemson fans the most in-depth and accurate analysis of each game that I possibly can."

The Tiger Pregame Show is also giving a hint to its roots as Roy Philpott, Publisher of and host of the Roy Philpott show on WCCP 104.9 FM, returns to the show in the third hour each week to offer his unique insight into the game. Philpott served as host of the Tiger Pregame Show from 2003 until 2009 before joining the Tiger Tailgate Show on the Clemson Radio Network.

Roy Philpott Will Once Again
Offer Analysis And Insight On TPS
"It's a privilege to be on the air with Scott and now also working with Willy Korn," Philpott said. "The three of us will be there to both inform and entertain, while also getting fans ready for Clemson football. It's going to be a wild ride this season."

Will Vandervort will provide player interviews and special segments during the three hour show. The

Tiger Pregame Show will continue broadcasting six hours prior to kickoff up until three hours prior to kickoff. Game analysis, player interviews, coach interviews, and predictions are integral to the show’s content.
Ormsby's Atlanta Offers Food, Drinks, Bocce Ball,

The first show of the year will broadcast live from Ormsby’s Atlanta from 1:00-4:00 on September 1st. Make sure that you include Ormsby’s Atlanta in your game day plans and stop by and see the show live and enjoy great food, drinks, pool tables, and bocce ball.

If you have not done so, make sure you download the Tune In App for your IPhone/Blackberry/IPad/Droid so you can stream WCCP 104.9 FM and the Tiger Pregame Show on game days.

This free APP works great to stream WCCP while you are in the car but out of range of the upstate. If also allows you to stream WCCP while tailgating on the road when you go to see the Tigers play.

The Tiger Pregame Show is also on Facebook (The Tiger Pregame Show) as well as Twitter (Tiger Pregame). This is a great way to get up to the minute information on Clemson as well as broadcast information for game days.

Note:  Additions have been added by Clemson fans at the bottom of this blog

One of the great things about football season is that it offers the opportunity to welcome people to Clemson (either for the first time or after a long time away).

At Clemson, we believe that we have something special and are excited to showcase that special college football environment each time we host a visitor.  Our goal  is very simple:  To be incredible hosts to our visitors and provide the ultimate game day experience.

There is an additional buzz in the air for Week 2 at Clemson, as we host the the Auburn Tigers and their fans for what should be an electric game day weekend with two Top 15 football teams in an ACC vs. SEC match-up in prime time!  We hope that your trip here will be exciting, memo…

May 3rd Clemson Historic Picture Of The Day

Construction Of The North Upper Deck In 1983

(Photos Uploaded By Alan Cutts)
Today’s photos are a series of shots during the construction of the North Upper Deck in 1983.

The North Upper Deck is comprised of 22,500 yards of concrete, 2,200 Tons of reinforcing steel, 3,000 tons of asphalt, 5,800 gallons of paint, and 60,000 pounds of aluminum seating

The North Upper Deck height is 13.36 stories and the length is 560 feet. The total cost of the North Upper Deck was $13.5 million

To illustrate the quality of the investment of the upper deck.  The $13.5 million dollar investment is recovered in just 3 years (7 home games per year) in ticket sales.  Each game Clemson sells out the North Upper Deck, over $600,000 goes towards Clemson Athletics.

The North Upper Deck is slightly larger than the South Upper Deck. The reason for this is simple. Engineers had more room to build behind the North Upper Deck than they did behind the South Upper Deck (with Cemetery Hill behind the South). This al…
