Broadcast Notes And Parking/Tailgating Information For Duke Game

The Tiger Pregame Show, driven by D&D Ford, will broadcast live Saturday from Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham, NC from 1:00-4:00 on WCCP 104.9 FM and www.wccpfm.com.


Former Tiger Willy Korn and WCCP host Roy Philpott will join Scott Rhymer for our 125th consecutive broadcast live on location where the Tigers play.

We have interviews with Dabo Swinney, Chad Morris, Brent Venables, Tajh Boyd, Dalton Freeman, Josh Watson, and Spencer Shuey to set the scene for the nationally televised night game. 

Will Vandervort will once again provide interviews for the Tiger Pregame Show, allowing fans to hear exactly what the players and coaches are thinking about the upcoming game.

We will all give our Clemson/Duke predictions in addition to our ACC and SEC locks of the week.

Blue Devil Alley

Fans are invited to enjoy Blue Devil Alley, the Duke Football game day experience, located just outside the north gate of Wallace Wade Stadium adjacent to Card Gym and Cameron Indoor Stadium. The area kicks off with the Blue Devil Football team walk each game and features interactive games, entertainment, and food along with group and corporate hospitality areas for Duke fans to enjoy. Blue Devil Alley opens two and a half hours before each game and is located on the same site where Duke Students camp out for basketball games, known as Krzyzewskiville, during basketball season.
Coca-Cola Kids Zone

Located on the concourse between Sections 12 and 14, the Coca-Cola Kids’ Zone provides entertainment for kids of all ages.  With customized Duke inflatable games as well as face painting and special events throughout the season, the Coca-Cola Kids’ Zone is where family entertainment combines with football to create a great atmosphere inside Wallace Wade Stadium.  It opens 120 minutes prior to kickoff and shuts down at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Re-Entry into Stadium

Guests wishing to leave and then re-enter the stadium may do so under the following conditions – they must keep their valid game ticket and have their hand stamped by a staff member at the gate. Guests re-entering must show their stamped hand and their valid game ticket for entry. All items are subject to search upon re-entry to the stadium.

Parking Hours

      •    Iron Duke parking lots - will open at 6:00 AM each game day.

      •    General Public parking lots - will be open FOUR (4) hours prior to kickoff with the exception of the Chemistry Lot located on Circuit Drive and the Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd. which will both open at 7:00 AM each game day.

      •    Recreational and Oversized Vehicle (RV/OV) parking lot - will be open from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM each Friday evening before game day.  The lots will re-open on game day at 6:00 AM.  The lots close at 12:00 PM on Sunday after game day. 
Parking Pricing

      •    General Public Parking Permit – all regular sized vehicles (less than 9 feet wide and 18 feet long) - $10.00 per vehicle per game.  All permits to be purchased at lot entrances.  Permits are CASH ONLY.

      •    General Public Bus Parking Permit – all buses (larger than 9 feet wide or 18 feet long) - $50.00 per bus per game.  Bus permits can be purchased online beginning August 1st at
www.goduke.com/tickets or at the Duke University Road Lot #2 entrance on game day.  All game day purchases are CASH ONLY.  Buses may purchase an RV/OV permit if they wish to be in the RV/OV Lot located on Circuit Drive.

      •    Recreational and Oversized Vehicle (RV/OV) Parking Permit – all recreational or oversized vehicles (larger than 9 feet wide or 18 feet long) - $50.00 per vehicle per game or $300.00 per vehicle for season.  RV/OV permits can be purchased online beginning August 1st at
www.goduke.com/tickets or at the Small Circuit Lot entrance on Friday prior to game day or game day.  All Friday prior to game day and game day purchases are CASH ONLY.

      •    Duke University and Medical Center Employees – no charge with a valid 2013 or 2014 Duke University parking permit.
Parking Rules and Regulations

      •    Parking permits are non-transferable and can’t be duplicated for any reason.
      •    Parking permits are valid only on Duke Football game days and must be displayed from the bearer’s rearview mirror at all times.
      •    Please bag and place all trash and recycling in the appropriate receptacle prior to departure from the parking area.
      •    All federal, state and local laws, statutes, and ordinances apply, including those regarding the possession, dispensing, and use of alcoholic beverages.
      •    If your assigned lot is full, please see parking attendant for closest available location.
      •    Please properly extinguish and dispose of charcoal and other flammables. DO NOT THROW AWAY in parking lot trash cans or in parking lots.  
Bus Parking

Bus parking is available off of Duke University Road in the Duke University Road Lot #2.  Buses are permitted to drop off their guests at the roundabout on Towerview Drive.  To access this drop-off point, buses must enter campus at the intersection of Towerview Drive and Duke University Road.  After dropping off guests, buses will turn left onto Duke University Road and park in the Duke University Road Lot #2 across from Chapel Drive.  The cost for bus parking is $50 per game and only cash is accepted at the lot entrance.  Buses may park in the Recreational and Oversized Vehicle (RV/OV) lot, but no drop off/pick-up point close to the stadium will be available.  For more information on RV/OV parking see below.
Recreational and Oversized Vehicle (RV/OV) Parking

For the purpose of Duke Football game days a recreational or oversized vehicle (RV/OV) is any vehicle wider than 9 feet or longer than 18 feet.  RV/OV parking is available in the Small Circuit Lot which can be accessed via LaSalle Street off Erwin Road.  All RV/OVs must park in the Small Circuit Lot. RV/OVs require special parking arrangements because they do not fit in a normal parking spot and affect pedestrian and vehicular traffic.  The cost for RV/OV parking is $50.00 per game or $300.00 for the season.  RV/OV permits can be purchased online beginning August 1st at www.goduke.com/tickets or, if space is available, at the Small Circuit Lot entrance on Friday prior to game day or game day.  All permit purchases at the lot entrance on the Friday prior to game or game day are CASH ONLY.

RV/OV parking spaces in the Small Circuit Lot are 54 feet long by 18 feet wide and the lot is paved.  The lot is not completely level; therefore levelers will be required for most spots.  There are no reserved parking spaces and spaces can’t be held for other guests.  All RV/OVs will be parked by Duke parking staff upon arrival to maximize the parking in the lot.  RV/OVs are permitted to bring one (1) tow trailer or vehicle.  The tow trailer or vehicle must fit within the designated parking space.  No additional parking is available on or off campus for tow vehicles or trailers. 

Access to the RV/OV Lots begins at 6:00 PM on the Friday prior to game day.  Access ends at 12:00 PM on Sunday after game day.  For ease of access it is recommended that all RV/OVs be parked a minimum of three (3) hours prior to kick-off. 
General Public Parking Information

      •    General Public Recommend Pre-Game Ingress Routes - Duke Athletics, Parking and Transportation, and Duke Police recommend that you follow the recommended ingress directions for the general public linked below.  These routes may not be the shortest or most direct route from your origination point, but they will be the quickest route to access the general public parking areas while avoiding Iron Duke traffic.  A detailed map of the planned ingress for all football games is also linked below.  Please take note and follow the information on the NCDOT electronic signage located on NC 147, 15-501, and I-85 as well as electronic signage located around campus.  Please understand that traffic control officers are unable to answer questions without causing traffic delays.

- General Public Recommend Ingress Directions

1610 AM
– Tune into 1610 AM when approaching the Duke campus for information on general public parking for Duke Football game days.  The message begins at 7:00 AM and runs until the end of the first quarter.
General Public Drop-off and Pick-up Point for Persons with Disabilities – The General Public Drop-off and Pick-up Point for Persons with Disabilities is available just outside the East Gate of Wallace Wade Stadium in the Blue Zone lots on Wannamaker Drive.  Wannamaker Drive can be accessed via the Blue Zone Iron Gate on Duke University Road. 
General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities - General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities is available in the Blue Zone lots off of Wannamaker Drive in lots B-2, B-4, and B-7.  Wannamaker Drive can be accessed via the Blue Zone Iron Gate on Duke University Road.  An accessible lift-equipped van will be available as needed for guests needing wheelchair lift assistance.  Please notify a parking lot attendant upon arrival to request van service. 

General Public Drop-off and Pick-Up Point - General Public wishing to drop-off guests in close proximity to the stadium may do so on Chapel Drive.  To access the drop-off point, guests should enter campus at the intersection of Campus Drive and Anderson Street and proceed to the Chapel Drive circle.  Upon arrival at the circle, notify the traffic control staff of your need to drop-off or pick-up guests by the Chapel.  The staff will coordinate the drop-off/pick-up and then direct the vehicle to the closest available general public parking or egress point. 


General Public Park and Walk Lots – Guests wishing to park and walk to the stadium can find general public parking available in the following parking lots on football game days: Chemistry, Large Circuit, PG9, Jogging Trail, and Campus and Anderson Lot.  The cost to park in these lots is $10.00 per vehicle per game.  Duke employees with a valid 2013 or 2014 Duke University parking permit will be permitted to park free of charge.  The walk times from the respective lots are listed below:
Jogging Trail – 6 minutes
      •    Chemistry – 8 Minutes
      •    Campus and Anderson Lot – 12 minutes
      •    Large Circuit – 14 minutes
      •    PG9 – 19 minutes

      •    General Public Courtesy Shuttle Lots – Guests wishing to limit their walk time may take advantage of the general public courtesy shuttle lots.  All shuttles are accessible for persons with disabilities.  General public courtesy shuttle parking is available in the following parking lots on football game days: PG1, GC, and H-Lot.  The cost to park in these lots is $10.00 per vehicle per game.  Duke employees with a valid 2012 or 2013 Duke University parking permit will be permitted to park free of charge. 

For the FIU game on September 1st, the courtesy shuttle will run continuously from four (4) hours prior to kick-off until 1 hour post-game.  For the remaining games, the courtesy shuttle will run continuously from three (3) hours prior to kick-off until one (1) hour post-game.  Pick-up and drop-off points for the courtesy shuttle are located next to the parking areas at the corner of Flowers Drive and Yearby Avenue and the corner of Trent Drive and Flowers Drive.  The shuttle will run every 15/20 minutes, depending on traffic volume, and will drop-off/pick-up at the Duke University Chapel.  The approximate walk-time from the Chapel to the North and East gates of Wallace Wade Stadium is five (5) minutes.  Persons with disabilities that use the courtesy shuttle should follow directional signage posted designating accessible paths.  Post-game guests will cue in lines at the Chapel to ride the courtesy shuttle back to PG1, GC, and H-Lot.

      •    Bull City Connector - The Bull City Connector is a fare-free, hybrid-electric bus service that connects downtown Durham with the Duke University campus. The route provides direct access to Duke and includes stops along Main Street and Erwin Road. The service also includes a stop at Durham Station, the city's transportation hub with public bus service and within walking distance of the American Tobacco Campus and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bull City Connector is also ideal for bicyclists, who can ride to a Connector stop and take their bike to campus by using a bike rack on the front of the bus.

The easiest way to get to games using the Bull City Connector is to get off at Duke Hospital South on Trent Road. Once you get off at Duke Hospital South, walk on the sidewalk down Flowers Drive. Cut up to the West Campus Quad. Walk all the way down the Quad until you reach Towerview Drive. Cross Towerview Drive and follow the sidewalk to Wallace Wade Stadium. Miscellaneous Parking and Traffic Information

     •    Duke University and Medical Center Employee Parking - Duke University and Medical Center faculty, staff, and employees can receive free parking on football game day in the general public parking lots by presenting a valid 2013 or 2014 Duke University parking permit at the lot entrances.  For information on general public parking lot locations, see General Public Parking Information above.  Students, employees, and guests wishing to access Campus Drive or Chapel Drive within 3 hours prior to kick-off will need to access those locations off of Anderson Street.  Those needing to access to the Law School, Fuqua, and Thomas Center parking areas must do so 3 hours prior to kick-off or acquire an Iron Duke Parking Permit for those lots from the respective school administration.  Once inside 3 hours prior to kick-off all non-Iron Duke parking permit traffic will be diverted to the general public parking areas.

      •    Tailgating - is permitted. Tents, tables, tarps or canopies ARE NOT permitted if they impede foot or vehicular traffic or if they extend into additional parking space.   One (1) Iron Duke parking permit or one (1) general public parking permit equals one space.  Iron Duke parking permits or general public parking permits can’t be combined to park a recreational or oversized vehicle (RV/OV) in any lot other than the designated RV/OV parking lot.   All federal, state and local laws, statutes, and ordinances apply, including those regarding the possession, dispensing, and use of alcoholic beverages.  Please properly extinguish and dispose of charcoal and other flammables.  DO NOT THROW AWAY in parking lot trash cans or in parking lots.

      •    Recommended Post-Game Egress Routes - •    Please follow the direction of uniformed officers and staff in the parking lots and on the roads surrounding campus at all times.  Officers and staff are in place to help expedite your egress from the game day parking areas.  A detailed map of the post-game egress for all football games is linked below.

Parking Emergency Information

In case of emergency please dial 9-1-1 for Durham County or 919-684-2444 for Duke Police Emergency Dispatch.  Duke Police will be the primary responder on-campus for emergency calls.  Durham Police will be the primary responder off-campus for emergency calls.  If an emergency occurs and authorities are contacted, please designate someone in your party to help direct emergency personnel to the emergency location.
