Tiger Pregame Show Will Return To Atlanta...And Ormsby’s

The Tiger Pregame Show, just like the 2012 Clemson Tiger football team, will come full circle at the Chick-Fil-A Bowl by returning to Atlanta and to Ormsby’s to end the 2012 season.

For those that are going to Atlanta for the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, make the Tiger Pregame Show a part of your game day experience.

The Tiger Pregame Show will broadcast our 129th consecutive show live on location where the Tigers play at Ormsby’s Tavern from 1:30-4:30 on WCCP 104.9 FM.

Join other Clemson fans by getting ready for the game and to participate in the broadcast of the Tiger Pregame Show starting at 1:30.

Ormsby’s is a classic neighborhood tavern found in Atlanta's west-side and has a variety of craft brewed drinks, bocce ball, pool, backgammon, shuffle board, and darts. It will also be a great place to stay out of the heat and gather with Clemson fans...and hear Clemson talk live!

Ormsby’s is located at 1170 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta, which is less than one mile from the Georgia Tech campus right off of I-85/75 and 14th Street. Ormsby’s is also located just 2 miles from the Georgia Dome, allowing easy access into the game day area after the Tiger Pregame Show ends.

You can listen to the Tiger Pregame Show, driven by D&D Ford, on WCCP 104.9 FM during your trip down I-85 into Atlanta. The radio signal should reach to somewhere around Commerce, GA. You can also download the WCCP App or the Tune In App, both of which are free and will allow you to stream WCCP 104.9 FM on your Iphone, Blackberry, and Droid phones.

Stay tuned in all day via your App or radio as WCCP 104.9 FM is the Flagship Station for Clemson sports and has all of the Clemson coverage. The Oconee Medical Center Tiger Tailgate Show with David Stein and Roy Philpott will air immediately following the Tiger Pregame Show at 4:30. Pre-game with Pete Yanity and Will Merritt will begin at 6:30 from inside the Georgia Dome. The game broadcast itself will be followed by the 5th Quarter Show, hosted by Roy Philpott, which begins approximatly 45 minutes after the end of the game.

As in the past, we want you to stay connected to the Tiger Pregame Show via our social networks. If you post on the Tiger Pregame Show Facebook or Twitter pages during our broadcast, we will do our best to give you a “shout out” on the air.

Finally, I would like to say that this is a great opportunity for our football team, coaches, and fans on Saturday. Finishing the season on National Television against a team that is considered one of the best teams in the nation in the best conference in the nation is a great opportunity.

Go Tigers!

One of the great things about football season is that it offers the opportunity to welcome people to Clemson (either for the first time or after a long time away).

At Clemson, we believe that we have something special and are excited to showcase that special college football environment each time we host a visitor.  Our goal  is very simple:  To be incredible hosts to our visitors and provide the ultimate game day experience.

There is an additional buzz in the air for Week 2 at Clemson, as we host the the Auburn Tigers and their fans for what should be an electric game day weekend with two Top 15 football teams in an ACC vs. SEC match-up in prime time!  We hope that your trip here will be exciting, memo…

May 3rd Clemson Historic Picture Of The Day

Construction Of The North Upper Deck In 1983

(Photos Uploaded By Alan Cutts)
Today’s photos are a series of shots during the construction of the North Upper Deck in 1983.

The North Upper Deck is comprised of 22,500 yards of concrete, 2,200 Tons of reinforcing steel, 3,000 tons of asphalt, 5,800 gallons of paint, and 60,000 pounds of aluminum seating

The North Upper Deck height is 13.36 stories and the length is 560 feet. The total cost of the North Upper Deck was $13.5 million

To illustrate the quality of the investment of the upper deck.  The $13.5 million dollar investment is recovered in just 3 years (7 home games per year) in ticket sales.  Each game Clemson sells out the North Upper Deck, over $600,000 goes towards Clemson Athletics.

The North Upper Deck is slightly larger than the South Upper Deck. The reason for this is simple. Engineers had more room to build behind the North Upper Deck than they did behind the South Upper Deck (with Cemetery Hill behind the South). This al…
