Bob Patton lettered at Clemson as a left tackle from 1949-1951.
Patton was All-South in 1950 and 1951 and All-State in 1951. Patton was a captain during his senior year and during his career at Clemson played in both the Orange Bowl and the Gator Bowl.
Patton played one year with the New York Giants in the NFL before returning to South Carolina as a high school coach. Patton eventually became a college coach at The Citadel and South Carolina before returning to Clemson as a coach in the early 1960’s.
